The rookies delivered a convincing victory, with their unity and strong performances leaving Top X members no choice but to exit the competition—some even before having the chance to fully showcase their potential.

The Match Between Tân binh Nguyễn Phi Long and Top X Thanh Danh

The survival showdown kicked off with a face-off between rookie Nguyễn Phi Long and Top X member Thanh Danh. Under pressure due to a short preparation time and the added challenge of choreographing their own routines, Thanh Danh admitted feeling anxious before the match.

Ultimately, Phi Long secured a unanimous victory, earning 3 out of 3 votes from the judging panel.

“We all felt that Phi Long performed with more ease. I especially appreciated your ‘dance break’ mid-performance. Most importantly, you never lost your fire,” commented Dance & Performance Coach Oh Jihoon.

The Match Between Tân binh Đỗ Minh Tân and Top X Quang Anh

Rookie Đỗ Minh Tân faced off against Top X’s Quang Anh. Despite struggling with a leg injury and trying out rap for the first time, Minh Tân powered through. He won with another perfect score of 3 out of 3 from the judges.

Although Quang Anh was praised for knowing his strengths and executing strong choreography, Minh Tân stood out for his vocal performance and confident stage presence.

The Match Between Tân binh Phạm Văn Tâm and Top X Nguyễn Khánh

Rookie Phạm Văn Tâm went head-to-head with Nguyễn Khánh, a Top 30 pick who had previously withdrawn due to personal reasons. Văn Tâm had been chosen as his replacement. Producer Tóc Tiên deliberately selected Văn Tâm for the battle to push him further and test his competitiveness.

Văn Tâm won with 2 out of 3 votes. While Nguyễn Khánh was commended for his performance design and creative flair, Văn Tâm showed greater consistency and technical foundation, thanks to his training.

“Even with the same song, the rookies today showed how to deliver it in a cooler, more captivating way,” said Vocal Coach Park Sumin.

After a series of intense one-on-one showdowns, a new rule was introduced in Tân binh toàn năng: all three existing teams were officially dissolved and had to be immediately restructured.

Following discussions and careful consideration, producer Tóc Tiên selected Hồ Đông Quan as the first member of her new 6-member team. Producer Kay Trần chose Nguyễn Hữu Sơn for his 5-member team, while producer SOOBIN selected Bạch Hồng Cường, also forming a 5-member lineup.

Tóc Tiên’s team remained unchanged from the previous phase, demonstrating strong unity, understanding, and mutual trust among its members.

The unexpected twist came from changes in the teams of producers Kay Trần and SOOBIN. Tân binh Nguyễn Thanh Phúc Nguyên decided to join SOOBIN’s team. He openly shared his desire to find the “idol aura” he felt he was still lacking.

Meanwhile, Tân binh Nguyễn Văn Liêm became a member of producer Kay Trần’s team.

Entering the seventh evaluation round, the show’s producers announced that the challenge would be the most comprehensive to date. The goal is to further sharpen the skills of the Tân binh, guiding them step by step toward becoming truly versatile artists.

In this round, each team must create one entirely original song based on a theme of their choice. The total time allocated for this assignment is 25 days. Each team is responsible for every stage of the process from developing the concept, writing lyrics and melody, to mixing, mastering, and recording a demo. Additional details will be provided to each team.

This is not only a technical challenge, but also a test of teamwork, resilience under pressure, and creativity in musical thinking.

Notably, the producers also officially announced the Survival showcase of Tân binh toàn năng – Giai đoạn sống còn.

The Survival showcase is a brand-new outdoor music event format. It combines performance and competition, aiming to select the upgraded Tân binh lineup that will advance to the international round. The outcome will be determined by both a professional panel of judges and the live audience attending the showcase.

The event is scheduled to take place on July 23 in Ho Chi Minh City. It will feature explosive performances, the culmination of over 100 days of relentless training by the most outstanding Tân binh.

The showcase will unveil the upgraded, all-rounder Tân binh lineup, ready to take on international music groups in the next phase of Tân binh toàn năng, expected to air on VTV3 in September 2025.
